As Mzwakhe Mbuli celebrated his 60th birthday on 01 August 2019, Mahlomola Kekana Foundation honored him in style. This is when the Foundation threw the “People’s Poet” as his is known, a gala dinner to celebrate him for his immense contribution to the South African and Global Arts and Culture sector. The top tier gala dinner was held at the Soweto Theatre, with prolific individuals as well as fellow artists, alongside members of the media and his family gathering at the arts centre to celebrate this milestone and global success. Dignitaries in attendance included MEC of Gauteng Department of Basic Education, Panyaza Lesufi and MEC for Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mbali Hlophe amongst many others. Entice Communications and Media was responsible for the event’s PR Service and Event Coordination

Involvement

Guestlist We were responsible for inviting all dignitaries in attendance as well as key industry players. Artists showed up in their numbers alongside x3 MECs. The gala dinner catered for 300 guests and the honorary concert accommodated over 500 attendees

Securing Media Partnerships Our role was to secure media partnerships and we managed to secure two of Soweto’s leading media platforms as the event was hosted in Soweto. Both Jozi FM and Soweto TV became our media partners.

Media Interviews We arranged media interviews for all artists who performed on the night. This includes Mr. Mbuli who also performed at his very own honorary concert.
